Stop hiding history: US actor to Disney

US actor Whoopi Goldberg criticizes Disney studio for racism calling on the studio to re-release 'Song of the South'.

In her first act as a Disney legend, US actor Whoopi Goldberg criticizes the American studio for racism, calling for re-release of a "racially tinted" film.

The actress who added the Disney Legend award on Friday to her CV, said in an interview with media that the studio should stop hiding history and bring back 'Song of the South' which aroused controversy for its alleged racial depiction of African Americans.

“I’m trying to find a way to get people to start having conservations about bringing 'Song of the South' back,” she said of the film, adding, “So we can talk about what it was and where it came from and why it came out.”

The US actress also referred to contentious crows in the 1941 animated classic ‘Dumbo’, voice-acted by white men.

“I want people to start putting crows in the merchandise, because those crows sing the song in Dumbo everybody remembers,” she said.

“I want to highlight all the little stuff people maybe miss in movies,” She noted.
